Four horror stories

These are a bit hazy now, and written so long ago I can’t really remember where they came from. There was some kind of competition in one of the TV listings magazines, I think, where they were looking for ideas to turn into half-hour mini-dramas, Tales of the Unexpected-style. These were written very quickly, one after the other over the course of a week, with minimal revision because there wasn’t time, and it just goes to show that there is something to be said for tight deadlines. You haven’t got the luxury to fret endlessly over every syllable. As long as you’re on top of your idea, have a clear structure, and a reasonable confidence in your ability, you should be able to do all your thinking first. The rest is just typing.
